Pedro Flores
Pedro knew early as a
young man that he wanted to please God. He has practically devoted his
life to Christ's teachings. Pedro helped establish the first ever
congregation of the Lord's church in Trujillo in 1987 and it continues
to flourish even today. Pedro, Gladys, Shalom and Sion Flores have
committed their lives to the Work of our Lord. Pedro and Gladys both
attended Baxter Institute in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, where they were
super involved in their work and education. Pedro's ambitions and zeal
for his work are surpassed by few. He constantly strives to make new
visions a reality. Pedro and Gladys were hosts of the married couples'
apartments, when they were in school at Baxter. They received all new
student families and visitors, making them feel welcome as they arrived.
They always made sure the new arrivals' physical requirements were met,
frequently inviting them to share a meal in their home. Gladys was much
involved at Baxter in women's activities as she now is, encouraging
non-member women and involving them in Bible studies and craft classes,
resulting in conversions. She taught/teaches women to teach other women
and also children. Gladys conducts special days like women's days and
workshop-type times for women. Gladys is a good Bible student and
comfortably bilingual. Their two sons, Shalom and Sion, are respectful,
highly intelligent, pleasant, and friends to other children. The entire
family is truly a wonderful asset in the mission field of Trujillo.
